On the day of Doom Escape 3 Federation, a famous escape room cafe in Incheon! After finishing Dystopia as the first theme, we moved on to Rendering. The three themes we decided to play back-to-back were all in different locations, so we had to keep moving, but Rendering was within walking distance from No. 2 to No. 1.
Introduction to Doom Escapes
Doom Escape 1
It's a cafe where you have to escape the room by becoming the protagonist of each theme within the time limit. You can have a great time with your lover, friends, and family. A characteristic of Doom Escape's themes is that they share a worldview, which is why we call the story themes that go from Ghostly - Fate - Dystopia - Sin - Invite the 'Ghostly Sinners' series.
Doomscape 1 is currently running 5 themes (as of September 2023)
- Secrets of the Manor - Fantasy
- The Terror - Action
- In&out - Fantasy
- Rendering - Reasoning, Fantasy
- Kidamjeong - Emotion
Doom Escape Location 1
Doom Escape 1 is adjacent to Doom Escape 2, so it's within walking distance. It's between Incheon Subway Line 1, Incheon Terminal Station and Arts Center Station, which is technically closer to Arts Center Station. Take Exit 6 and cross the street to get there.

Theme synopsis
In the distant future, 2037, you are profiler 'Lee Hyuk'.
You are a new employee of DTH! DTH started as a gaming company and is now a company that solves various criminal and unsolved cases with high technology.
Your usual sense of justice prevents you from investigating a high-profile case due to your low rank, but when you accidentally get your hands on the employee card of your senior, Ahn Seung-jae, you head straight to the rendering room...
- Doom Escape Official Website
All the escape room themes I've played recently have had short synopses, so I've been trying to infer the mood and content from the posters, so I was excited to find a long synopsis for the first time in a long time. (Fun to read?) But the renders are fantasy, so even with more background, it's not like I'd know what to expect 🤣 .
Escape Room Reviews
Player Information
3 Player - Tang 1 / Zool 2
We're all familiar with our members by now! Although we've labeled them as Tang and Chol, the render is actually not a horror theme, so anyone can have fun with it. I would recommend 2 or 3 people as the space can feel a bit cramped for 4 people.
Difficulty Level
★★★★☆
On the official website, there were five levels of difficulty, so I must have been nervous that I wouldn't be able to escape. When I played, there were more intuitive problems than I thought. The themes of Doom Escape are relatively free of clutter and clean. Those who have played a lot of escape rooms may find it a bit boring, but for a roomie like me, it's definitely fun to solve. (I wish it was near my house...)
Of course, our goal was to see the ending unconditionally, so we timed our hints accordingly. By the way, you can use an unlimited number of hints using HintPhone.
Activity
★★☆☆☆☆
I'm fairly active but don't need to run around, just avoid short skirts.
Fear
★☆☆☆☆
Since the genre is mystery and fantasy, I think some people might find the atmosphere a bit scary. However, I didn't feel that there were any intentionally scary sections. In fact, we did the dystopia after the horror (the best version), so it wasn't scary at all. I guess the level of fear is relative.
Interior
★★★★☆
There were parts that felt a bit old, but I still liked the interior. Since DTH is a company that solves various criminal cases and unsolved cases, the main character, Lee Hyuk, must have traveled to a crime scene somewhere. There was a realistic feeling of entering that space.
Oh, and one more thing... This isn't on the official website, but if you go there, you'll hear it before you play. In the synopsis, there's something called the Rendering Room, which is a system that uses evidence from the case and the victim's brain cells to create a 5D representation of what happened. It's supposedly designed to train novice profilers.
Device Ratio
Lock: Device - 6: 4
There are a lot of locks, but as a mystery theme, the hints you get as you solve each lock are interesting. I overwhelmingly prefer themes with more gadgets than locks, but in the case of the render, I didn't find the locks to be particularly immersive. I was curious to see what information was inside, so I spent a lot of time solving them.
Stories
★★★★☆
Rendering is intended to be a series in DoomEscapes, currently up to Rendering - Slasher, with the story continuing with three more themes. Rendering is the start of a series, so the theme itself doesn't have a huge narrative, but it's enough to pique your curiosity about what's coming next.
The process of finding the culprit was interesting and immersive, and we went on to do Slasher the same day, and I think if we had to render and come back, it would have been too painful because we wanted to know what happened next.
Final Evaluation
Dirt - Grass - "Flower Road" - Life themes
While the rendering isn't a premium theme with staff direction or a huge scale, I thought it was a great start to a new Doom Escape series. It was fun to solve the problems because the sources needed to solve each problem were very clear, and it was exciting to piece together the clues from the crime scene to find the culprit and get to the truth. I felt like I was playing as the main character, Lee Hyuk, for an hour.
The render and subsequent story can be found in Slasher, which is one of our favorite horror themes, so let's get to work on the Slasher review!
