Waking up late after oversleeping on a Yom Kippur holiday and wondering what to do today? I decided to visit Exodus, an escape room cafe. There is a site that I refer to when choosing an escape room, and I was able to play CLAIM at Exodus Gangnam 1, which is ranked 21st on the list. You might think, "Isn't 21st a long way behind?", but those of you who have tried to book an escape room know how difficult it is to book a famous and popular escape room theme these days... 😭 I feel like I'm booking a ticket for a Sungshik concert. Maybe it was the last day of the holiday, so there weren't many people there.
About Exodus
Exodus Concept
Exodus runs on a single theme created by teamAce. Their goal is to bring the things you can only dream about into a physical form that anyone can have fun experiencing. They want to create a space that is adventurous and inspiring, so if you're ready to enter a fantasy world, let's get started!
Exodus Locations
It was my first time to visit Exodus Gangnam 1 (of course, it's a single theme...) The location is about halfway between Sinnonhyeon and Gangnam Stations. It's a short walk from Exit 11 on Line 2 at Gangnam Station and Exit 6 at Sinnonhyeon Station on the Sindang Line.

"Mr. Customer, how may I help you?"
It seems to be a trend nowadays to keep the synopsis as short as possible to increase curiosity and anticipation. Judging from the image of the poster, the background is most likely a hotel, as it says Bispoke Hotel in the excerpt, and it says ONLY FOR WIZARD below in English. A hotel where only wizards can enter...? The genre is definitely fantasy.
You can read a slightly more detailed description when you visit. The Bispoke Hotel is a premier mage-only hotel with a long history and tradition, and you're hired as a hotelier. Determined not to tarnish the hotel's name, to be a good employee, and to provide the best service to your guests... you set out to escape.

Player Information
2 Player Play - Both 20
The space isn't that small, so I don't think it would be too uncomfortable for more than one person... After all, you're in a magical hotel in a fantasy world, so you should be able to feel the mystical elements. I think it would be more interesting and immersive to actively participate in the problem solving... so go in pairs!
Difficulty Level
★★★★☆
There aren't any ridiculous questions, and the difficulty of solving the questions isn't too difficult, but... it's a premium theme, so there are a lot of questions. It's probably hard for beginners to succeed without hints due to lack of time. We almost used hints to see the story at the end. (I can't even remember how many hints we used...) If you don't like using hints, or if you find catharsis in solving problems, we recommend that you have a lot of other escape room experiences before visiting Exodus.
Activity
★☆☆☆☆
I don't think you have to worry about what you're wearing - I wore a skirt and it didn't affect my play at all.
Fear
☆☆☆☆☆
There's no "G" for horror, few scares, and a brightly lit theme that's sure to be enjoyed by all ages.
Device Ratio
Padlock: Device - 3:7
As befits the fantasy genre, there were really, really, really~ a lot of devices. I think it's safe to say that there are very few escape-themed games that rank above Exodus Claim in terms of device configuration. I don't have a lot of experience with escape rooms, but I know this intuitively: the devices implemented here would be in my top five fingers in the entire country! I'm tired of the constant lockpicking, and if you're one of those people who wants to see a constant display of devices, just do this.
The devices in Exodus Claim, in particular, get progressively bigger and better the further back you go. I'd definitely recommend playing through to the end, even if you're using a lot of hints, because there's one device in particular that really stood out to us as we were going through and we were like, "No, how did they do that, that's awesome?" I think everyone will feel the same way about that.
Interior
★★★★★
The interior is a perfect representation of the concept. There's nothing to put on the device or the interior. Premium is different after all...👍🏻 After finishing the theme, you can get a detailed explanation of the Bispoke Hotel and the story from the staff. The props and effects that I passed by casually while playing actually had meaning... You can look forward to the interior.
Stories
★★★☆☆
I didn't really expect much in terms of the story because I think the fantasy genre can be anything you can imagine, but it was more exciting than I thought and I could see that they put a lot of effort into the story. I had a lot to adapt and learn as a hotelier for the first time, but they put the worldview and episodes in the middle of it so that I could blend in naturally. It was very immersive, so by the end, I really felt like I was an employee of a magical hotel. Looking back, it was quite a big scale to unravel in 70 minutes... I think the creators did a good job.
Final Evaluation
Dirt - Grass - "Flower Road" - Life themes
I'm not personally a fan of fantasy escape rooms, but looking back at my review, I have nothing but praise for this one - it was a very satisfying escape room experience. Perhaps if you're a fan of the fantasy genre, your "life theme" will change the moment you leave this room. In fact, while I was writing this post, I was still trying to decide if I wanted a flower path or a life theme.
To commemorate the theme, I received a pen with the words BESPOKE HOTEL on it. It's something I'd have at a real hotel, and I'm sure I'll be reminded of the fun I had at Exodus every time I use it... so I'm all for merchandising.
It's really an escape room... The quality just keeps getting better and better. I can't wait to see where this play content goes.
